For driving directions to the CalSTRS Headquarters, select your starting area from the following:

• From the west (San Francisco) via Interstate 80
  • Take I-80 to Sacramento
  • Take the Downtown Sacramento/Jefferson Blvd exit
  • Keep left toward downtown Sacramento (do not exit at Jefferson Blvd)
  • Take the South River Road exit just before the Tower Bridge
  • Turn right onto 3rd Street
  • Turn right onto Waterfront Place
  • CalSTRS is on the left
• From the east (Reno) via Interstate 80
  • Take I-80 to Sacramento
  • Take CA-99/I-5 South to Los Angeles
  • Take the Richards Blvd exit
  • Turn right onto Richards Blvd
  • Make a slight left onto Jibboom Street
  • Turn right onto I Street
  • Turn left onto 3rd Street
  • Turn left onto Waterfront Place
  • CalSTRS is on the left
• From the south via Highway 99
  • Take CA-99 to Sacramento
  • Take the I-80 exit towards San Francisco
  • Take the Jefferson Blvd exit, keep right
  • Take the South River Road exit
  • Continue onto 3rd Street
  • Turn right onto Waterfront Place
  • CalSTRS is on the left
• From South Lake Tahoe (via Highway 50)
  • Take US-50 to Sacramento
  • Continue on I-80
  • Take the Jefferson Blvd exit, keep right
  • Take the South River Road exit
  • Continue straight onto South River Road (do not turn right at intersection)
  • Continue on 3rd Street (do not turn right at intersection)
  • Turn right onto Waterfront Place

• From the north or south via Interstate 5
  • Take I-5 to Sacramento
  • Take the J Street exit
  • Turn right onto 3rd Street
  • Turn right onto L Street, toward Old Sacramento

Member Parking

CalSTRS provides complementary parking for all members. To park:

• Take a ticket from the machine at the Waterfront Place parking lot entrance.
• Enter the parking structure and follow the overhead signs for Visitor Parking.
• Park on Level 2 (P2) where designated parking spaces are conveniently located directly across from the lobby entrance.
• When leaving CalSTRS, have your ticket validated at the Member Services Center.

All Other Visitor Parking

CalSTRS offers two parking options for non-members:

• Park in the parking structure
  Take a ticket from the machine at the Waterfront Place parking lot entrance.
  The daily rate is $1.00 per half hour.



• Park on the street
  Minimal street parking is available. Street parking meters have time limits ranging from 90 minutes to 2 hours.
