Preparing for Your Appointment
Gather the following personal information before scheduling an appointment.
- Identification
Benefit counseling appointments are personalized to each member. Prior to conducting the telephone appointment,
the benefits counselor will ask you a series of questions to verify your identity. The counselor may ask you to
provide your:
- First and last name
- Complete mailing address
- Client ID or SSN
- Date of birth
- Projected Retirement Date
The date you would like to retire.
- Employment Status
- Full-time
- Part-time
- Any expected employment status changes
- Number of Unused Sick Leave and Annual Contract Days
- Other California Public Retirement Systems
If you plan to also retire another retirement system, have the highest salary from the other retirement system ready for
your counselor.
