Benefits counseling appointments provide members with specific information and guidance on retirement and disability benefits.

CalSTRS is currently experiencing higher than normal interest in our counseling services. Since limited counseling sessions are available, and in order to provide relevant service, members who are eligible to retire and considering retirement this year or are having to make a decision regarding their CalSTRS benefit will receive preferential booking into our individual and group counseling sessions.

For members not eligible for or not considering retirement this year, we recommend attending a CalSTRS Workshop.

CalSTRS benefits counselors will:

  • Provide retirement benefit estimates
  • Offer in-depth information about CalSTRS benefits programs
  • Assist members by appointment:
    • At a local counseling office
    • Over the telephone
