To estimate the amount of your Additional Earnings Credit prior to receiving your 2009 Retirement Progress Report (RPR), follow these steps. Sample calculations are provided.

Step 1

Go to your myCalSTRS account. Find your RPR for June 2006 and/or June 2007.

Step 2

On your RPR find your account balance under:

  • Defined Benefit Supplement (DBS) Account Activity
  • Employer Summary (for CB Benefit)

Step 3a for Defined Benefit Supplement Accounts

  • For fiscal year 2005–06 multiply your account balance on June 30, 2006 by 2.49%.
  • For fiscal year 2006–07 multiply your account balance on June 30, 2007 by 4.41%.

Sample Calculation based on a $10,000 account balance

Step 3b for Cash Balance Benefit Accounts

  • For fiscal year 2005–06 multiply your account balance on June 30, 2006, by 1.18%.
  • For fiscal year 2006–07 multiply your account balance on June 30, 2007, by 4.69%.
