Shareholder Resolution Up for Vote at ONEOK Annual Meeting May 15, 2008

What on Earth can ONEOK do to reduce greenhouse gas emissions?

CalSTRS Calls for ONEOK Report on Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Greenhouse Gaffes

It’s time for ONEOK management to become more environmentally responsible.

Utility companies lead all sectors in the production of greenhouse gas emissions and account for 25 percent of total greenhouse gases worldwide. Greenhouse gas emissions are an area of concern for utility companies like ONEOK.

ONEOK is among the largest natural gas distributors in the United States, serving more than 2 million customers in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas.

The Electric Utilities Report published in 2007 found that the true value of utilities was significantly less once the environmental costs were incorporated into the valuation analysis.

It is important to investors that utilities disclose the emissions data so that investors can assess these companies value and the risk associated with these emissions.

Changing the climate within ONEOK can change the climate around the world.

'Green' Opportunities

CalSTRS provides leadership in the effort to mitigate the risks posed by global warming. In 2007, CalSTRS formed the Green Initiative Task Force to coordinate the efforts of the CalSTRS “Green Wave,” while also improving the long-term financial returns of the portfolio.
