Christine Ford

Christine Ford is the Chief of Staff at CalSTRS where she assists the Chief Executive Officer in the overall operational management of CalSTRS and provides high-level oversight of the System’s strategic initiatives, programs and internal operations, including:

  • Benefits and Services
  • Enterprise Initiatives and Technology
  • Audit Services
  • Administrative Services
  • Human Resources

She also oversees the CalSTRS annual operating budget of more than $163 million, and ensures the System’s compliance with Federal and State laws, rules and regulations.

Ms. Ford, a Certified Public Accountant and former auditor, joined CalSTRS in 2004. Prior to her current position, she served as Chief Financial Officer for CalSTRS and also was a member of the executive management team at the Department of Aging. Over more than 22 years, she also served in various management positions for the California Department of Education, California Lottery and the Office of Auditor General.

Ms. Ford holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento, and she is a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Government Finance Officers of America and the Public Pension Finance Forum.
