Peggy Plett

Peggy Plett is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Benefits and Services, with responsibility for administering defined benefit, cash balance benefit, disability, and survivor benefit programs for CalSTRS members and beneficiaries. She also oversees the customer contact center, member account management services and employer reporting processes.

Ms. Plett joined CalSTRS in 1987, with prior experience working for the Chancellor’s Office of the California Community Colleges, the State Personnel Board and the Department of Consumer Affairs. She has over 15 years of executive management experience at CalSTRS, first as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Administration before assuming her current position in 2002. Ms. Plett is committed to providing CalSTRS members and beneficiaries with high quality customer service.

A native Californian, Ms. Plett holds a Bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Public Administration degree from Golden Gate University, Sacramento.
