Turning In CalSTRS Paperwork Soon?

Walk-in Applications in Five Counseling Offices

You can now go to five CalSTRS counseling offices to turn in CalSTRS documents and avoid mailing in or driving your paperwork to Sacramento.

During a pilot period, which began November 1, 2007, you can submit your retirement application and other forms, such as a change of address or a beneficiary designation to counseling offices in:

CalSTRS benefits counseling secretaries will date stamp and send documents overnight to Sacramento headquarters. The documents will then be reviewed and processed in Sacramento. Payments will continue to be accepted in Sacramento only.

Your documents will be treated with complete confidentiality and care.

After a trial period, CalSTRS will evaluate the successes and weaknesses of this program, including demand for the service, need for additional resources, information security and cost. Depending on the outcome, the program may be continued or expanded.

These sites were selected based on location, population, accessibility and availability of support staff in the offices.
