The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced that
Medicare premiums will increase effective January 1, 2010. The table below shows the 2010 Medicare
premiums.
Medicare Part B premiums deducted from retirement allowances:
- Are paid in advance
- Reflect the annual change in premium costs
Medicare Premium can be Higher for Some
The amount of a Medicare Part B premium will be higher for individuals who:
- Are assessed a Medicare Part B surcharge
- Are assessed an Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (sometimes referred to as IRMAA)
