Retired members living in areas devastated by Hurricanes Katrina
and Rita can request to have their monthly benefit checks
or direct deposit notifications sent to a different address.
Permanent or Temporary Address Change?
If you think you will need to use another address longer
than one month, please make a permanent address change. We
are unable to make a temporary address change for more than
one month at a time. Therefore, if you will need this new
address to receive your check or direct deposit notification
past one month, designate this address as "permanent." Then
when you return to your home address, make another permanent
address change request.
To make a temporary address change, please
fax or mail CalSTRS with your name, the last four digits of
your Social Security number, your temporary address and your
signature. Clearly state this is a temporary address change
only for the next month or direct deposit notification.
To make a permanent address change i.e., longer than one month,
please fax or mail CalSTRS with your name, the last four digits
of your Social Security number, your permanent address and
your signature. Clearly state this is a permanent address
change.
Fax: 916-229-3934 or 916-229-0558
Write: CalSTRS, P.O. Box 15275, Sacramento, CA 95851-0275
For members who have direct deposit to a bank that is inaccessible
because of the storm damage, please be assured that your monthly benefit
will continue to be electronically transferred and available.
To those affected by the devastation of these hurricanes, the CalSTRS board members and staff offer their sympathies
and hope that your recovery is a quick one.
