The Teachers’ Retirement Board approved a five-year extension of the CalSTRS Medicare Premium Payment Program during its
regular meeting on April 5.
The program is now available to eligible members of the Defined Benefit Program who retire on or after January 1, 2001,
and prior to July 1, 2012.
For those who meet eligibility requirements, CalSTRS will pay the Medicare Part A (hospital) premium.
