Lisa Blatnick
Chief of Administrative Services

Lisa Blatnick is the chief of administrative services at CalSTRS, the largest educator-only pension fund in the world. Ms. Blatnick is responsible for the activities in the Facilities Management and Procurement, and Human Resources divisions.

CalSTRS administers a hybrid retirement system, consisting of a traditional defined benefit, cash balance and defined contribution plans, as well as disability and survivor benefits. CalSTRS serves more than 949,000 members and benefit recipients. CalSTRS administers retirement benefits for California’s public school educators in grades kindergarten through community college.

Ms. Blatnick joined CalSTRS in September 2003. As an analyst in the Facilities Management and Planning division, she was involved in developing CalSTRS’ long-term facilities strategy and operations support.

In 2006, Ms. Blatnick was appointed the business lead for the development of building requirements and construction oversight for CalSTRS headquarters building in West Sacramento. She was promoted to director of Facilities Management and Planning in 2007. In an extension of her role as director, her responsibilities included organization-wide oversight of all procurement and contracting.

Ms. Blatnick has more than 25 years of experience working for the State of California. Prior to coming to CalSTRS she worked at the Legislative Counsel Bureau and Office of Criminal Justice Planning in human resource and facilities management-related positions.

Ms. Blatnick is a native of Sacramento, holds a Building Operator Certification and has completed extensive coursework in Total Quality Management.
