Rebecca Forée joined CalSTRS in April 2021. She has more than 30 years of experience in communications and has held many senior positions in the public and private sectors.

Forée has worked for the California State Senate, the University of California, the California Department of Food and Agriculture, Amazon.com, Time Inc., Weldon Owen International and Harper Collins Publishers, among other businesses.

In the middle of her career she also worked as a volunteer vet technician at a marine mammal hospital where she mastered the art of restraining and tubing 300-pound elephant seals.

Forée holds a degree in Mass Communications from the University of California, Berkeley.
