Welcoming members back to our offices, slowly but surely
Pension Sense blog | November 19, 2021

We know nothing can replicate person-to-person interaction, so we appreciate and admire the way you and your fellow educators have adapted to our pandemic protocols over the past couple years.
Since we closed our member service centers in March 2020, we’ve grown our remote customer service efforts to connect with you via individual Zoom sessions and CalSTRS webinars.
Your participation levels have been tremendous. We’re going to keep those lines of communication open moving forward.
Still, we’ve missed you and we know for many, face-to-face conversations are optimal for learning and planning. With that in mind, we’ve begun gradually welcoming back members to our offices for certain services.
Please call 800-228-5453 and select option 3 or send us a secure online message via myCalSTRS to connect with a benefits specialist and discover if an in-person visit is right for you. If so, a CalSTRS team member will refer you to your local office; our member service centers are located in West Sacramento (our headquarters location), Fresno, Glendale, Irvine, Riverside, San Diego and Santa Clara.
Here’s what is and is not available in person for the time being:
Available in-person services
- Dropping off forms.
- Having forms reviewed for accuracy and completeness.
- Getting answers to questions that can be addressed within a few minutes.
Unavailable in-person services
- Providing retirement estimates.
- Holding benefit planning sessions.
- Helping with other services.
We’re eager to see you again and help with your retirement journey—and at the same time we will continue to be cautious by following all safety protocols for the protection of you, your loved ones and our team.
