CalSTRS Offers Options for IndyMac Direct Depositors
Following the federal takeover of IndyMac Bank, many customers have decided to transfer their accounts to other institutions. CalSTRS offers options for those members whose benefits are currently being directly deposited to IndyMac accounts.
What can CalSTRS do?
CalSTRS can help you cancel your direct deposit order with IndyMac and issue you a check.
How long will I have to wait?
If you make your request prior to July 28 at noon, your check will arrive between Aug. 5 and Aug. 8.
What do I have to do?
If you want to cancel a direct deposit order and have a check mailed to you CalSTRS will have to verify your address.
How do I do this?
Call CalSTRS at (800) 228-5453.
What if there’s a problem with my address of record?
If an address correction is required, CalSTRS can fax to you a form that you will need to fax back to CalSTRS. Or you can download the form.
