Change your address online at myCalSTRS or complete the Address Change Request form and follow the instructions to submit the form to CalSTRS.

Know the rules. If you return to work after service retirement in a position with the California public school system as an employee, an employee of a third party, or an independent contractor, there are restrictions.

Some members choose to return to CalSTRS-covered employment after having been retired. Returning to active membership following a service retirement is called "reinstatement." The subsequent retirement, called a multiple retirement, is calculated differently from the way the initial benefit was calculated.

Contact CalSTRS as soon as possible to notify us of the death of a member or beneficiary.

If you have been or are currently going through a divorce, legal separation or termination of a registered domestic partnership, your current or former spouse or registered domestic partner may have a community property interest in your CalSTRS benefits.
