Thomas Lawrence joined CalSTRS in August 2019 as a media relations specialist and became media relations manager in January 2024. Thomas arrived at CalSTRS after two years as a public information officer with Caltrans. Prior to Caltrans, Thomas spent six years as a sports reporter for daily newspapers in Redding and Stockton. He is a 2011 graduate of Chico State University.
