The three Teachers' Retirement Board members whose terms were set to expire on December 31, 2023, will serve an additional four-year term beginning January 1, 2024.
Only one candidate submitted a nomination for each prekindergarten through 12th grade seat (inclusive and non-administrator) and the community college seat by the January 10, 2023, deadline. In accordance with board elections regulations, the unopposed candidates were certified as elected.
Returning to the board are:
PreK–12 (inclusive): Harry M. Keiley
PreK–12 (non-administrator): Denise Bradford
Community college: Sharon Hendricks
Keiley, who currently serves as the board’s chair; Hendricks, who serves as vice chair; and Bradford will continue to provide experience, knowledge and guidance on the board.
The next election cycle for the board will begin in summer 2026 when the board will initiate the process with a Notice of Election. This election will occur in 2027.
The other nine board members serve either because of election to a statewide office or gubernatorial appointment.
